Shannon Battle

As the founder and CEO of Family Services of America, she has grown her business from ground zero to a now profitable company of over 20 years in business. Shannon is a serial entrepreneur with several other businesses – including a construction company, an online training academy and a clothing line. Her greatest business success has been equipping people with big hearts to open their homes for foster children and housing over 800 youth in residential homes while they work on their next life transition.

Sonya Johnson

My name is Sonya Johnson; I entered the agency as a Qualified Professional Case Manager. I will say less than six months within the agency I moved into the position as a Licensing Coordinator. I have since been with the agency for 7 years. I am thankful for my life. I am a wife, and a mother of 2 girls. I love a challenge, I am lovable, and I am able to take care of the things that need to be done in my life, from the simple to the complex. What I enjoy about my job is getting parents that are willing and dedicated to gain licenses and become foster parents. I have great people that I work alongside with that I treasure as family. I have a great boss, that has inspired me and has the amazing ability to bring out the best in me. I am able to expand my knowledge and build confidence in what I do, thanks to the one and only Shannon Battle.

Dorris Small

My name is Doris Small, and I am an Intake Specialist/Foster Care Case Manager with Family Services of America. I am Certified in MAPP, Deciding Together Training and Fostering, and Adopting Sexually Abused Children.. I have worked in the Mental Health Profession since 1994 where I have served Individuals diagnosed with Substance Abuse, Severely Persistently Mentally Ill and Intellectual Developmental Disorders with Adults. I also have experience serving children diagnosed with Mental Health Disorders.. I love history, music, serving her church and spending time with family.

Elonda Sledge

My name is Elonda Sledge. I manage the office at Family Services of America. There are multiple duties to describe, but in general, I assist and direct visitors, resolve administrative problems and inquiries; composition modification, editing and proofreading correspondence and reports, and preparing a range of administrative documents for the agency staff plus handle Medical Records. I also Maintain accuracy of authorizations for outpatient and foster care services. Create and maintain electronic health records with the ensured medical records are assembled in standard order and are accurate and complete. I also perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Deidre Neely

My name is Deidre Neely, I am a master’s level Social Worker/LCSWA. Currently I work as a caseworker, my job duties entail meeting weekly with parents to monitor the kids on my caseload, I work with therapeutic children as well as family fostering. I have over 13 years’ experience working with children in the mental health sector. What I enjoy most about my job is seeing the children that are in care being embraced by our parents, and I also enjoy meeting new people and learning from my parents that I work with. I believe not only can the parents we work with learn from us as caseworkers, but we can gain little nuggets of wisdom from them along the way. Fun fact about me I love to sing.

Te'sheonna Fryar

I am Te'Sheonna Fryar, and I joined the Family Services of America team in 2017, I am one of the intake specialist and also a case manager. I obtained my Bachelor of Social Work degree from Fayetteville State University in 2017 and have always had a passion for working with children and helping others. I enjoy working with the agency because of the supportive atmosphere and dedicated teamwork to ensure the needs of the children are being met. I also enjoy being able to work closely with the children and becoming a positive support person and advocating for their needs. A random fact about me is… I am the oldest child and first-generation college student.

Highly motivated and dedicated Air Force Veteran looking to help our local community find loving and supportive homes for kids in need.  

As Medical Records I ensure that the kids in our agency have the documents that are required by the state to stay in compliance with regulations, that requires attention to detail and lots of patience and understanding.
