In 2010, Family Services of America opened its doors to clients in North Carolina offering foster care services. Since then, our mission has been to provide quality care in a safe environment — earning us a reputation as a quality provider in the Foster Care and Mental Health Services area.

    My name is Sonya Johnson; I entered the agency as a Qualified Professional Case Manager. I will say less than six months within the agency I moved into the position as a Licensing Coordinator. I have since been with the agency for 7 years. I am thankful for my life. I am a wife, and a mother of 2 girls. I love a challenge, I am lovable, and I am able to take care of the things that need to be done in my life, from the simple to the complex.

I am Certified in MAPP, Deciding Together Training and Fostering, and Adopting Sexually Abused Children.. I have worked in the Mental Health Profession since 1994 where I have served Individuals diagnosed with Substance Abuse, Severely Persistently Mentally Ill and Intellectual Developmental Disorders with Adults.

    My name is Deidre Neely, I am a master’s level Social Worker/LCSWA. I have over 13 years experience working with children in the mental health sector and have a strong skill set for working with troubled teens, single mothers, and people in crisis. What I enjoy most about my job is seeing the children that are in care being embraced by our parents, and I also enjoy meeting new people and learning from the parents that I work with.

    I am Te’Sheonna Fryar, and I joined the Family Services of America team in 2017, earning my Bachelor of Social Work degree from Fayetteville State University in 2017 and my Master of Social Work in 2020. I have always had a passion for working with children and helping others. I specialize in working with school-aged youth. I enjoy working with the agency because of the supportive atmosphere and dedicated teamwork to ensure the needs of the children are being met. I also enjoy being able to work closely with the children and becoming a positive support person and advocating for their needs.

    Administrative Assistant

    My name is Elonda Sledge. I manage the office at Family Services of America. There are multiple duties to describe, but in general, I assist and direct visitors, resolve administrative problems and inquiries; composition modification, editing and proofreading correspondence and reports, and preparing a range of administrative documents for the agency staff plus handle Medical Records.
